Birthday Wishlist 2007

It’s my birthday month once again! In the remotest possibility that somebody reading my blog is contemplating what to give me on my birthday here’s a list of things that I wanna have. :)

1. Wallet. With cash if possible. Aanhin ang pitaka kung walang pera, di ba? :P

2. Portable Backpack. My two backpacks are now worn out after years of use. I need something that can carry a 13″ Macbook securely. Preferably this or this.

3. Nokia E61i case. Preferably leather with belt clip for maximum portability and flexibility.

4. Apparel. If you’re tired of seeing me wearing the same set of shirts for the past couple of years, now is the opportune time to buy me something new. ;) The following items are just suggested buys (I think they’re really kewl), but as most of you know, I wear almost anything as long as they’re comfortable. Any Firefox apparel (shirt or polo shirt) will be okay, too.

Caffeine Molecule
I void warranties
Pi By Numbers
No, I will not fix your computer
Obey gravity, It’s the law!

5. USB Optical mouse. For my daily mobile computing needs.

6. Mouse pad. Same as item. Preferably the one with Google written on it… or this one.

7. Pillows. The bigger the better. Gonna retire my old bed partners soon. This one looks nice.

8. Digital wrist watch. If it comes with USB/Bluetooth functionality, the better.

9. Nike + iPod Sport Kit

10. Nike + shoes

11. Alarm clock. I don’t normally wake up to normal or ordinary alarm clocks. I sleep like a log (“tulog-mantika”) so I guess this is the very thing I need: http://tinyurl.com/256ny3

12. Cavalry 500GB 3.5″ 7200 RPM 16MB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive – CAUE37500

13. Firefox Sound Bag

14. Grow Your Own 1up Mushroom Kit

15. Ion USB Turntable

16. BluePhoneElite 2.0

Happy shopping. You have more than two weeks to think about it and order abroad if needed. :P

  1. Hi, just read through your birthday list – wise choices indeed!! I must, however, ask you a rather silly question, aren’t all backpacks portable? Hopefully someone will get you the Nike+ kit, it’s great!! I’ve got one. Have a great birthday!! -jaytrini

  2. hi jaytrini,

thanks for dropping by, and agreeing with my wishlist. :) yeah, i’m really salivating at the Nike+ kit. but i admit, like most of the those items i mentioned, the Nike+ kit will remain as a wish. :)

my apologies for making a rather ambiguous phrase, the “portable backpack” item. what i meant was, a backpack with a specialized compartment for “portable computers” – notebooks and laptops. so, i hope this “silly answer” clarifies your not-so-”silly question.” :)

as a sidenote, I did receive three items from my wishlist on my birthday, including one unlisted item – the ultimate birthday gift ever! which made my birthday the bestest i ever had. :)

  3. sir…im searchin in google how to connect to airborneaccess using e61 and i found a tweeter page stating u connected ur e61i on aa…just wondering how did you do that… i have an access there but my browser in e61i seems to hang on the login page…if you could help…thnx…..ciao…ingatz

  4. hi pjpadilla,

i have no problems connecting to aa (or any wi-fi hotspot for that matter), and i did no special configuration to connect to it. the unlimited free wi-fi access promo for E series phones already expired last july 31. if you can already browse the login page, that should be ok already. you should have an existing aa account (prepaid card or postpaid) since the promo has already expired.

are you able to access the Internet through other wi-fi hotspots other than that of AA?

    here are several suggestions though:

    1. check phone memory if it’s not yet full. you should have ample memory to launch the web browser. (go to menu -> options -> memory details -> phone memory). sometimes there are several running applications on your phone so you might want to close these apps to free up memory. click on the menu button for a couple of seconds, then a list of running apps will pop-up on the upper left side of your screen. select the application you want to close, then exit from that app when the app is active. do the same for every app that needs to be closed. (you don’t have to close the display app. :P )

    2. delete existing AA wi-fi AP profile.

maybe your aa profile on your phone has been corrupted, so you just delete it and connect again. your phone will automatically create a new profile for aa access point.

go to menu -> tools -> setting -> connection -> access points then select airborneacccess.net then delete it (either press the delete button or options -> delete).

then go back to stand-by mode (press the red button or just select exit -> exit -> exit…)

be sure you’re connected to an airborneaccess wi-fi. then scan for the ap, and connect. your phone’s web browser should launch again.

    3. maybe your phone needs a firmware upgrade/update. maybe your firmware is in a way corrupted that’s why the browser hangs when it is logging in to aa. If you’re living somewhere in Metro Manila, you might want Nokia Care to check your unit. There’s one at Tomas Morato, just one block away from McDonald’s. Most likely they offer firmware upgrade services and will troubleshoot your phone for you (i dunno if it’s for free, especially if you’ve registered your phone to Nokia Care). And they can replicate your problem – it’s also an AA hotspot. :P

    hope this helps…
