A Reply to Gigil’s Comment

I’ve been “silent” for a week now. Got nothing blog-worthy to write about I guess. But I was surprised to find a comment in my About page. At last, something to write about again. So here’s my piece:

your English is too constipated..coz you’re trying to be politically correct in everything you write and the outcome was a pathetic bllog like this….

Hi gigil. Thanks for dropping by my blog and for taking time to post a comment in the process. First off, I’m not trying hard to be politically correct (well, siguro sa subconscious ko, I dunno), and I think since this is my personal blog, I have every right to express my opinion in my own way. If you find my blog pathetic then that’s fine with me. After all, everyone’s entitled to his/her own opinion. I must admit my blog does not really appeal to everyone and I can’t please everybody, even to my different circles of friends. Nobody’s forcing you to, but you’re welcome to visit this blog anytime, though. And if you happen to dislike my writing style or what-not, you can just opt to visit other blogs instead.

gosh boy, wag kang hambog…hindi porket taga-UP ka eh magaling ka na noh……

Umm, I don’t recall bragging about my being from UP. As much as possible I don’t put down students and graduates from other schools or universities. As a matter of fact I know a lot of talented and intelligent people from other schools, and I’ve even worked with some of them. If you’re saying I’m trying to be politically correct but I’m flaunting my being from UP, then you’re just contradicting yourself.

I know it’s an honor to be in UP…but this case was before…lot’s have changed…kahit naman anong college ang pinapasukan mo ok na debah….i mean iba na ang dating ng UP ngaun….it was not like yung dati na “intellectual” ang dating….ngaun it’s “social” nah…..

Yup UP is lagging behind other universities in the region in the last few years. It’s really no big secret. One big factor is it’s a state university and its budget is at the mercy of the Philippine government. In the process, a lot of faculty and staff
transfer to other universities (here or abroad), its facilities are years behind its counterpart universities in other countries, etc. Those who are able to work at UP for a long time are either “martir/nationalisitc/ma-prinsipyo” or “mayaman na/di na kailangan ang pera.” If you just know how much these people are receiving mapapailing ka sa awa. UP is also affected by brain drain, mind you. Pero sa mga naiiwan, you have to admire their ingenuity and craftiness in making the most out of the tight project budgets and just making ends meet to sustain their families.

I don’t have the figures as to the ratio of rich-versus-poor students in UP but one thing that UP espouses is academic freedom. That’s why we have the Socialized Tuition Fee Assistance Program (STFAP or Iskolar ng Bayan program), and although it’s far from perfect, it somehow bridges the gap between the rich and poor studying in UP. In other words, UP ensures that being poor does not keep you from studying in UP. On the other hand, UP does not “discriminate” students to a higher education just because they are rich. In other words, if you qualify in UPCAT, it doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor – you are entitled to the UP education.

As to being “social,” I don’t know where you got that. Perhaps it’s just hasty generalization. One thing for sure though, most UP students are socially-aware that’s why some of them participate in mobilizations and rallies. And it’s another generalization when UP students are branded as “tibak” or communists/leftists.

yeah, kaya pala the no. of upocat takers has plumeted down……….\

With all due respect, I will have to disagree with your statement here. It’s more or less constant over the past decade. This I can back with actual figures. If you know the nature of my job, you’ll have to take my word for it.

anyway i’m open to your response….got my email naman debah……

Yup. But I’m replying here so the other people who happen to visit this pathetic site can get my side of the story, too if you don’t mind. BTW, you residing somewhere in New York?
So there. Happy weekend everyone (aba, I can hear Brooke Burke’s voice at the back of my head).

  1. sino to si gigil? bading na bading ng nickname hehehe…anyway, never found your blog pathetic. quite informative pa nga 🙂 well, to each his own 🙂

  2. koy nabasa rin ni muchy muchy nanggigigil na daw sha pati ako e. report mo kay mamaelsa para de_dust na agad o kaya timezone pag natalo tayo..hehe ano? tawagan ko cla jun_gats?

  3. way to go, max! ano bang mas malalang english – constipated o ung may LBM? just wondering. hehe… nicely handled, bro. and i know i don’t have to say it, but i will: this is definitely not a pathetic blog!

p.s. maybe what gigil meant by “social” was “sosyal” as in, ‘hey, dude pare friend, would u mind uploading your notes to my PDA? i left my mac in my bmw parked in front of AS eh.” haha.

  4. Well, UP is lagging behind the other regional universities… but not as much as other Philippine universities! Whilst it is pathetic, there is nothing we can do – UP cannot win. UP asks for more gov’t subsidy, it does not get it – gov’t would rather put their money elsewhere. UP tries to be self sufficient by using its resources and increasing tuition – people shout “commercialization” and “no to tuition fee increase”! UP cannot win!

Did you know that tuition in UP is still 300/unit – the same since I do not remember when because it’s too long already. Whilst the 1000/unit increase will definitely help improve the facilities (unfortunately, it will not directly trickle down to salaries of the employees), students do not see it that way even though UP is now a “social” university, as gigil has pointed out.

Why are the students rallying in UP and not in Malacanang or Congress or Senate? Ask Congress and Senate to approve the original UP charter than using their own modified one. Ask Malacanang for the subsidy! Rallying in front of Quezon Hall is like preaching to the choir!

As for your blog being pathetic – oo nga, who cares?! The important thing is you get to express yourself and let others know about it. 😛

  5. aleks, kulang po yan — “my mac is in my bmw and i don’t know where my driver parked it and he’s not picking up his smartphone.”

  6. Ridiculous…How could you call this blog a “personal” blog if in the first place you’re gonna let other people to read it…….anyway, i’m overwhelmed that you made an effort to reply to my comment with an overwhelming amount of long but superficial craps”….i have to make some clarifications on my last comments….oh, i can’t believe na hindi mo na-gets ang sinabi ko boy!…what i meant with “social” is that now adays, the greater benefit of a UP education is social, not intellectual…..me, I went to a pipitsuging college (in most perspectives), whenever I say that I went to this pipitsugin college they’ll say ‘oh dyan ka lang nag-aral’ and I can see in their eyes a sense of underestimation of me because I just attended this pipitsugin university….my gosh don’t you ever realized that pipitsuging universities don’t always produce pipitsugung students…..debah what does the statement “I went to UP” meant to you when you hear it….gosh even if you are just a laid-back estudent in UP and you said that you went to UP oh first impression genius ka……gosh this “I went to UP” thing is a big flaw…sure you’ll say UP is not a haven for laidback students ..think again boy!……i don’t see the difference in terms of quality betwwen my pipitsuging university and UP….One more thing, why your comments to me are flawed…..gosh why do you have to be so formal in a casual conversation…too redundant, boy!…….

  7. my gosh what other reasons apart from intellectual gains do flip highschool students have when they dream of going to UP……come on don’t be hypocrites…….there are several rather effective universities out there….

  8. ey gigil, kung mali-mali man lang ang grammar at spelling mo, mag-tagalog ka na lang. i don’t mind if i see a couple of errors (i also make them, but accidentally, just like misspelling your name in my tagboard) pero pag sobrang dami nakaka-irita na eh. and please check the proper usage of your terms kasi i don’t get what you’re saying sometimes and several of your statements are incoherent, senseless or hanging. thanks for dropping by again, though. longer reply next time.

  9. Re:”Your english is too constipated”
UY!!! Usapang tae Sali ako jan!

Hmmm.. in my opinion I’d rather that my english be constipated– hard, dry, compact but in place, rather than sputtering liquid with who knows what going in all directions, and flowing like a chocolate fountain out of my control… mas nakakahiya un kasi nakaka offend sa ibang tao ung baho at wala kang magagawa kung kusa nalang syang lumalabas… 😥

Plus, it’s so yuckie kadirie pa!

  10. hey you aimee v. as in vitc* ba? i didn’t mean na gumawa ng ingay sa blogosphere pero i’m just being myself girl!..well this the real me…..if you guys can’t tolerate my presence, i don’y care…….

  11. well final words from miss gigil, i know my English is also constipated but it wasn’t like your Englishes which are too constipated…..mine is just a little constipated.see the difference….anyway, i’ve live in australia for 5 years then i move back here in mah hometown, philippines

  12. “kaya naman pala konti lang ang bumibisita ng blogg mo…..coz they cudn’t endure the patheticness of your bog”

So what? You can have a blog with 1 million visits a day and still have a “pathetic” blog. As long as he’s happy with what he’s doing, then who cares about pageviews and visitors.

  13. “anyway, i’ve live in australia for 5 years then i move back here in mah hometown, philippines”

Something tells me that something’s not right in this statement (grammatical errors aside). 😀

Anyway, for what it’s worth, I don’t find this blog pathetic at all. 😀

  14. and sing along— joy to the world the Lord is come….

“well final words from miss gigil, i know my English is also constipated (and erroneous)but it wasn’t like your Englishes which are too constipated…..mine is just a little constipated(mixed with igit).see the difference….anyway, i’ve live in australia for 5 years then i move back here in mah hometown, philippines”

final words? i bet you’d still have more replies hehehe..haaay..you’re some kinda staphilcoccus 😀

ey macoy, you’re the ‘BOY’ boy! hahahaha!!

  15. Waw, ang saya-saya dito! 🙂 i have 1001 things brewing in my head to say to your dear troll, max. but i shall hold my peace… because ’tis the season for peace and goodwill. enjoy ur holidays, bro! and keep the pathetic entries coming. i luuuuuv them all crapsss (*gasft* did i justed used the wordeds? 😉 hmp, i said i’d hold my peace, didn’t i?

  16. gigil, girl, you are very very rude. Let me give you a little quote from Eric Hoffer “Rudeness is the weak man’s imitation of strength.” Keep that in mind sana bago ka magsimula na naman ng internet bullying mo.

And ano ba talaga ang problema mo sa UP? Saan galing lahat ng bitterness na yun? Uuuuy, hindi siya pumasa ng UPCAT 😉 And please stop stereotyping. No, don’t stop pala. Gusto ko pa makabasa ng mga nakakatawang misconceptions.

Oh last na, this is his personal blog girl 😉

  17. apparently carla. gigil ain’t a man.

which means, the quote does not apply.

and gigil. “constipation” is a “condition”. one would presume you meant with, “Your English is too constipated,” with this: “Masyadong natatae ang Ingles mo.” you b^tch like you know everything. hyphaluting words does not make one smart.

cheap university. you underestimate your own self, b*tch. ang baba ng self esteem mo. mag workshop ka nga.

what?.. coz you lived in Australia, your command of the English language is fluent? I see a lot of inconsistencies in your grammar, boy. Work on your grammar, and don’t go around ruining other people’s reputation.

yes, and with regards to your English,

    keep it simple…

    stupid.

  18. ok..no final words from me…..what i meant with constipated English is the English of someone who was trying hard to carry out perfect English…and the result was he feel uncomfortable using that English…..so the outcome was a constipated English……my advice guys….just be your self ok……be casual you know what i’m saying….use the Englishes that you are comfortable of using……..anyway, i want to point out na I did pass the UPCAT and I attended UP for a month. There I realized the “realities”…….So I moved to a different college..one more thing i’m only 15…oh gosh Que una persona escribe los significados de “personal” es No tienes razon porque hay mas mucho significados de la palabra “personal”……..Adios!.. a mis amigos y enemigos. voy a hablar a vosotros en manana…….before i go…. I’d rather study in Batanes than in UP>………

  19. If you guys have never heard of the term “constipated English” you shud work harder learning more Englishes….I’ll justify why “constipated English” makes sense…….An online version of the Merriam Webster Dictionary defines the adjective “constipated” as:
    1 : affected with constipation
2 : stilted or stodgy in appearance, expression, or action

oh now does it make senses?….debah its does not only apply to the LBM, pagtae, and stuff like that……….gosh The world does contains a lot of dorks. well kung natamaan ka eh di you’re a dork.

    Source
    Merriam-Webster Online. Constipated. 6 Dec. 2006 .

  20. anyway if you don’t trust me then why not ask your English Professor at UP…..siguro naman masasagot nila yun..

  21. i should have placed bets on whether or not gigil is still gonna make a reply…i could’ve had the extra cash for christmas shopping…

so u speak spanish now? we don’t care if we don’t understand it…for all i know your spanish could be gramatically wrong too..:D eh yung english mo nga di mo matuwid-tuwid hehehe.. and being just 15 is not an excuse.. biro mo..may dictionary ka na, wala ka pa ring sense 😀

well, if we were friends miss gigil, i’d send you a present sana…an english workbook from REX bookstore 😀 cheers!

  22. gosh boy/girl (whatevah u are) i’m not using my age as an excuse to not be criticize…well, well,…..fyi i’m almost a trilangual na..going on quadlangual probably next semester…..yeah i can speak and understand spanish…..Es muy bueno…..Estoy planando a viajar a Spain con mi tia….anyway, i wanna ask this, what do you know about Spanish for you think that my Spanish could’ve also been a little constipated….well you know i just write whatever comes to my mind..so you’ll notice some occasional error on my English…i write rapidly too; therefore i don’t have time to revise my writings or anything

  23. gigil. read carefully.

I think you meant that I should work harder in learning a lot of “words,” not “Englishes.”

Although I understand what you’re trying to say, you make your citations yet you are still incoherent with what you’re trying to justify. maybe you’re the one who has this “constipated English.” don’t be an ignoramous.

if your teacher forgot to teach you, or you’re just being an a$$ in class, you use (s) at the end of the verb when you have a subject that is singular, and no (s) at the end of the verb if the subject is plural. also, work on your past, present, and future tenses will you?

I get your point in trying to say that not every student in a “pipitsuging” university are “pipitsugin.” but you just don’t do that by degrading and demoralizing people from other universities. kaya ka “pipitsugin” e, iskwater ka kung umasta. if you want to be treated with prestige, then be deserving of it.

what? so you’re a linguist now? don’t brag about your Spanish here. Bigyan mo muna ng panahon ang pagka-Pilipino mo. baka naman maysadong maliit ang tingin mo sa Pilipinas kaya naisip mong lumipat ng unibersidad. It’s people like you that don’t help the economy progress, and still you b^tch about how “bulok” a university can be. Make a difference boy! If you want to prove your point so badly then set up YOUR University! Get competent students and work on your goal. Don’t be going around degrading others, only caring about yourself and what you’ve achieved. You’ll live a lonely life, boy.

I happen to be comfortable with the way I use the English language.

and, call me a dork or not, I know I have one. paggigilan mo na.

oh, and some of them “dorks” do make more money than intellectual fools.

here’s the thing, if you think a blog’s pathetic, why read it? why even comment on it?
you know what that makes you.

  24. gosh girl..excuses, excuses, excuses… don’t you have more exciting things to do in your teen life? hehe…

“Estoy planando a viajar a Spain con mi tia?”

goce del viaje con su tia 🙂

this is fun..somebody get me busy..please..

  25. “muchy muchy ala a viajar con tia mi? buguy buguy! buguy! goce con su mamamia.. estrepo kala di viahe nyoti. buguy!” translation – kaloy andame mong alam!

  26. psychology says that your actions of putting people down only means that you think they’re way above you.

if you think you’re so smart being able to learn a lot of languages at “only 15”, dude that’s not something to be proud of. I have lots of friends who achieved that back in gradeschool! They’re called filipino chinese? They’re very good with english, the native tongue tagalog, and their other native tongue, chinese. Some of them have probably gone off to learn japanese at some point of their lives that would make them quad lingual by highschool! So girl/boy/bakla/tomboy being trilingual at 15 is not really something to throw a party over. *pats gigils head*

And by the way, this is the internet! Any one who would believe everything they read on it is a fool! You tell me “I’m only 15”, “I know spanish”, “I passed U.P., studied there for a month” , “there’s such a word as constipated english”, and I can tell you that I’m only 13, I invented the wheel, I own all the banks in Sweden. Your words prove nothing, not even your writing spanish in your responses. I can go IM my friends from Japan, South America, Spain, Mexico and ask them how to say “Stop wanking off on the net and start getting a life” and paste them here and tell you i’m multilingual.

*sigh* already 15 and still no sense in your head. Becoming a character to remember on the internet can be accomplished by a 7 year old. Becoming a person to be remembered in real life, now that’s not so easy to accomplish.

So, just curious, what’s your UP student number?

  27. and you concluding that just because other people talk straight english doesn’t mean they’re “constipated”, it means they’re good at it, and they put their english into proper practice. I know what you’re trying to mean by constipated english (guys he’s trying to coin a word here) but you got your application of the term all wrong which is why you have everyone against you on it. If you asked me what i would define as constipated english, no offense to the fans, but Manny Pacquiao has constipated english. He has trouble expressing himself with the language because it’s not his native tongue. But that didn’t stop him from being remembered by the world. His hard work definitely has paid off.

You can learn any language in the classroom, but you can never say that you actually know the language unless you can immerse yourself in the society that uses it, come up to a random person, and carry a good conversation with that person. So I suggest, before you go jump into spain, to see if you really do know spanish, prep up on your people skills. You need to work on that badly.

  28. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

    to gigil:
please continue to have fellowship with us here in this blog

  29. gigil is now winning…

at the special olympics… wee! 😛

well, it’s just weird that his/her address to me on his/her comment on my blog was “girl”. hahaha. XL – xtra labo

  30. I guess my reply is a bit late.

‘Ridiculous…How could you call this blog a “personal” blog if in the first place you’re gonna let other people to read it…….’

Gigil, I think you’re mistaking the term “personal” with the word private. Please learn to distinguish the difference between the two “englishes”(hehehehhe).

What macoy means about his blog being personal is that this is where he posts his personal thoughts and well, basically whatever HE wants to share with his friends and people that knows or maybe intested in him. As a reader of his blog, it is just plain courtesy that if you want to leave a comment on HIS blog, leave something that would add to the discussion at hand.

A private blog would be a blog that wouldn’t be available to anyone except himself(if that’s the case, then it wouldn’t be a blog anymore, wouldn’t it?).

Now if you think this blog is pathetic, why is it that you keep on going back here? Do you have a condition where you can’t help but be drawn to something you dislike? ika nga(since nabring up ni aimee v. ang tae) para kang kumain ng tae (not that i’m comparing his blog to shit) kahit na sinabi mong kadiri, subo ka pa rin ng subo. If you don’t like his blog then don’t read it. Plain and simple di ba?

Since I brought up the topic of adding something to the discussion. I would want to comment on your statement

“gosh boy, wag kang hambog…hindi porket taga-UP ka eh magaling ka na noh……”

I’ve never read Macoy writing about being good at something without being fully capable of the said task. This is not a matter of being from UP or not.

“I know it’s an honor to be in UP…but this case was before…lot’s have changed…kahit naman anong college ang pinapasukan mo ok na debah….i mean iba na ang dating ng UP ngaun….it was not like yung dati na “intellectual” ang dating….ngaun it’s “social” nah…..

For me personally, I still feel that it was and still is an honor to be in UP. I don’t know what you mean by a lot has changed. For me, i feel that I got the best education for ME. I’m not saying that UP gives the best education period. But it all depends on the person. I feel that UP gave me the best education in and out of the classroom. Also, if you think na iba na ang dating ng UP ngayon, I wonder why most companies still courts UP graduates to work for them?

BTW.. good one Aimee V. hehehe… I’m a filipino-chinese (and I studied in UP, madalang ata yun). I speak Chinese, Tagalog, English, and being from Tarlac, I can also speak kapampangan and ilocano. Not that i’m tooting my own horn, but all i’m saying is that it’s not because I’m smart or anything that’s why i know all those, it’s just that it’s the environment i grew up in.

” anyway, i want to point out na I did pass the UPCAT and I attended UP for a month. There I realized the “realities”…

if you think that iba na ang dating ng UP ngayon and kahit saang school ka galing ok naman (not that i’m contradicting the statement) then why did you take the time to take the UPCAT? c’mon that’s 300 pesos and 5 hours down the drain, why didn’t you opt to go to a University or college that’s right beside your house? Also, care to elaborate what realities your oh so long month stay in UP you encountered? i spent 4 years studying in UP and 1 more working for the University, and I am still amazed by the fact that I don’t understand the entire university.

“well you know i just write whatever comes to my mind..so you’ll notice some occasional error on my English…i write rapidly too; therefore i don’t have time to revise my writings or anything”

Yes, I would also want to suggest that when you do think of something to write, think about what exactly you’re trying to say. You’re only 15, still very young, you have to learn to have a little bit more tact and class ok. Because quite honestly, i’ve met 12 year old kids who has more class and tact than you.

  31. hehehe…

I’m not saying my “englishes”(yes i just had to do it again) is perfect, but just a couple of suggestion.

” i know my English is also constipated but it wasn’t like your Englishes which are too constipated…”

    should be

” I know my English is also constipated, but it ISN’T like your ENGLISH which IS too constipated”

    Also
    i’m almost a trilangual na..going on quadlangual

it’s triLINGUAL and i’m not exactly sure quadlingual(or langual works)

    about abbi’s comment on
my hometown, philippines, again.. from the word hometown, it’s supposed to be a TOWN daggnabit.

You’d rather study in batanes than in UP? we’ll since i’m already on topic. when comparing two things, it is preferable that they at least be the same object. Batanes is a place, while UP is, well, a school. where in batanes exactly? under the mango tree? hehe….

Since you’re already on your fourth language, might i suggest that you go back to english first and improve on it.

  32. oh, there’s no such thing as “quadlangual”, it’s multilingual (with an “i” of course). merry christmas to all! hehe :p

  33. On a sidenote, ako lang ba or mejo nakakainis na yung salita/spelling na “debah”?

    —————————–

@aimee and ozzie: Nicely put. Couldn’t agree with you more.

    —————————–

OMG response pala sa comment ko yung Spanish bit LOL 😀 And yes, the word “personal” can assume different meanings. Sa tingin ko okey (sic) lang ang pag-banggit ko ng meaning nung salita because I was simply trying to explain sa iyo kung paano nasabing “personal blog” niya ito. But that’s out of the question na naman eh so I won’t bother explaining any further.

“..one more thing i’m only 15”
Does that mean na kinse anyos ka lang?!?! Hmmm, only 15 at nakapag-UP ka na at kung saan pang lupalop na kolehiyo…. Wow! Not that I’m saying I’m sooooo much wiser. Mejo weird lang talaga makipagtalo sa isang bata. So, oo, last na ito. Sayonara, no mañana! 😉

  34. haha, lagi nyo na lang akong nauunahan sa mga replies. i can’t stay long enough to answer *every* issue that gigil has pointed out. windang lang these days. but thank you all (of course except for gigil) for pitching in your thoughts which i definitely agree with. parang di ko na kailangan mag-explain kay gigil. you’ve all contributed every angle and aspect of the discussion at hand. (is this another example of my constipated english, professor gigil?) 😛 and thanks for the show of support guys. mwehehe.

re: the “constipated english” issue, pramis, naisip ko rin yung mga naisip nina aleks, aimee and ME, as in almost to the dot. hoy ozzie bakit ngayon ka lang nag-reply, you almost missed the fun. 😛

and lastly, thanks to gigil, our very own blog troll for providing the comic relief we all need.

naisip ko tuloy: should i rename this blog to “chronicles of the constipated blogger” or “the constipated chronicles” instead? 😉

“blog troll, blog troll… what you gonna do, what you gonna do when he/she comes for you… ” ayus!

    *goes back to training mode*

  35. EEEEEYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAKKKK!!!! SABI NA NGA BA BADING YUN EH! *runs to banyo and makes suka!* bwahahaha!! 15 pala ha..nyahai..

  36. gosh…….guys don’t be credulous…….that link was not my real friendster account…..the email was just my friend’s email for friendster….mga tanga ba kayo…why would I use my real email on this pipitsuging blog…….debah….you’ve just told me before that anything written on the internets should not considered true rightaway……think about it….why would a 22 year old Filipino gay, who lives in Kansas City, attends college, has a job in the US, spend time posting on this blog……..anyway, that’s why Filipinos never get ahead……that’s why UP was never listed in the TOP 100 Best Universities in Asia/World……you guys jump into conclusions rightaway,….

  37. right.. is that why you just updated your friendster account to remove your email address after “i’m changing for the better”?

*sigh* i really hope that in real life you really mean that.. tsk tsk

    BTW, according to http://goodnewspilipinas.com/docs/we_are_pinoys/archived/top_500_uni.html

“The University of the Philippines (UP) was the highest ranked local school with a global ranking of 299 and 47th among Asian universities” We’re definitely in the top 100 in Asia 😉

I don’t mind if your sexual orientation isn’t straight, as long as your facts are 🙂

  38. I guess she’s back….

You keep on insisiting that this is a pipitsuging blog. Why do you insist on going back here?

quite frankly, we don’t need your shit. why would a 22 year old gay filipino from kansas take the time to post in this blog? I honestly don’t know, better ask yourself that question, you’re taking the time to read and post in this blog, right? But here’s the deal, I posted the comment really at midnight in kansas, nagsusunog pala ng kilay yung kaibigan mo for her to change her profile right away…

to add to aimee’s comment, UP ranked 48th on the last asiaweek survey (this was back in 2000, last time they did the survey) pleae check your facts before posting anywhere.

sige na, since we’re attacking universities anyway, ano ranking ng “pipitsuging” university mo?

  39. woah! one more thing, ang ganda din naman pala ng logic mo. The 5-10 people in this blog jumps to conclusion therefore majority of filipinos jump to conclusions therefore it’s the reason why filipinos never moves forward. weird.

The reason my dear that filipinos never moev forward, is corruption, lack of education, poverty and a whole lot of other reasons. This is what i learned from UP.

Ok, ikaw na rin nagsabing hindi ikaw yun. i’ll take that as true. Pero just to get it done and over with, Macoy, would it be ok for you to post the IP address of the computer that miss gigil used to post the comment on this blog. Since i’m bored anyway, might as well trace it, now if it traces back to the US, well, wala lang.

BTW.. miss gigil, it’s just the “Internet” not internets, there is only one Internet in the entire world. (hmmm… Well, that’s what the education from one of the top 100 universities in Asia taught me)

  40. right on boy! (*gasp i’m beginning to sound like her :|*)

come on gigil, because it’s because we’re “not credulous” that we don’t believe you right now. I never heard of anyone borrowing a friends email para lang mangago sa iba. so why didn’t you just sign up for a new account?

burden of proof chong.. :p bigat ba ung burden?

  41. oh guys please don’t include my friend from kansas in this sh*t……..yap i requested my friend to remove the email….coz it’s my business ok….anyway, iba po ang source ko ng top 100 universities in asia/ world……..and UP wasn’t there…even lasalle, or teneo…….an

  42. anung source mo ng university ranking? FRIENDSTER?!!? hahaha! kawawa naman yung gay friend mo..nadamay pa (kung di talga ikaw yun) hehe..it’s your doing that got your friend into this sh*t..the SH*T that you started, that got a lot of people less bored 😀

btw, does she know you borrowed her email for blog trolling? lagot ka…we’re all gonna send her friendster messages na..moohoohahaha..well we could just pretend that we’re joining his/YOUR starry club..after all, it’s all in the internetS! tara letS!

    ehe he he..

  43. honga naman gigil you keep on stating things as if they are true (the no. of UPCAT applicants “plumeting[sic] down”, UP not ranked in the top 100 Universities in Asia, and other dubious claims). If you have stayed in UP then you would have learned to back your statements with credible sources. Else, it’s just hearsay and no one will believe you. Considering the many exaggerations and false claims you have made thus far, every statement you say is doubtful if not total nonsense.

if you have clicked on the link in my main entry for the top regional universities, you would have known that UP is ranked 48th among Asia’s universities by a survey done by Asiaweek. sige na nga ito na lang baka pag-click ng hyperlink di mo pa alam: http://www.asiaweek.com/asiaweek/features/universities2000/schools/multi.overall.html. it would do you well if you do some research than annoy bloggers with your crass remarks and unfounded claims. pero sige nga, just state your source para naman maniwala kami sayo. benefit of the doubt baga. san na ang ibidinysa mo dudung. bilis!

ozzie, i checked the friendster account since day 1 but i knew it’s more likely that it’s just a bogus email or he/she’s just using it to mislead others. gigil, if you’re really a friend, you wouldn’t have associated your gay friend’s email when posting nonsense and instigating flamewars such as this. i hope you got his permission before using it in this blog. as the cliche goes, “with friends like you, who needs enemies?” 😛 it is never ethical to masquerade under another person’s email account, and more so if it’s your friend’s unless you have permission and he/she knows what you’re using it for.

as to ozzie’s request, he/she is using the same ip block as yours and aimee’s company’s isp provider. or baka nag-IP spoof lang din siya (i dunno if he/she’s capable of that though). hoy ozzie baka ikaw lang si gigil ha ginu-goodtime mo lang kami. i have always suspected that gigil is just a friend who has nothing better to do than pretend to be an ignorant blog troll. pero grabeng pagpapanggap yun sobrang sipag, consistent sa wrong grammar, spelling and logic. bilib na ako kung ganun 😛

  44. Hehehe. I guess this is a bit late but I just want to say that I *was* 15 when I entered UP. So, I guess she could, indeed, be attending a college/university right now. However, gigil’s comments implies otherwise.

Sorry, kiddo. I agree with them, the burden of proof is on you.

And just a tip: Kung gusto mong isipin at paniwalaan ng iba na edukado ka, kumilos ka na parang edukado.

And before you try to learn any other languages, please try to master your own first. 😀

  45. hahaha!

macoy naman.. hindi naman ako ganyan mang good time :p

oo nga eh, she’s 15 daw, i’m assuming that she started college this year. 1 month sa UP, and the rest of last sem from whatever school she’s from. You have to admit, nakakabilib din siya. To think, one month lang siya sa UP she got enough to make an observation that all schools are more or less the same. Hindi pa siya nakaka graduate from college, she can already claim that it doesn’t matter what school you came from. Amazing! I’m proud of how your parents raised you. Ang mature na ng pagiisip mo at 15 years old.

    (yes, i’m being sarcastic)

  46. Wow! Ang dami na palang comments dito!!! I LAB IT! 🙂

gigil: “fyi i’m almost a trilangual na..going on quadlangual probably next semester”

I am DEPRESSED este IMPRESSED!

gigil: “anyway, iba po ang source ko ng top 100 universities in asia/ world……..and UP wasn’t there…even lasalle, or teneo…….an”

Hmm… care to share it with us? C’mon, we know that MAD magazine is expensive but if that is your source, we’ll look for it.

@gigil: you left UP after 1 month? Why? You finally realized (the realities) that your brain cannot cope up with the demands of UP, huh? Don’t worry – daming ganyan sa UP. I’m glad that you realized it early. Marami kasing nagaakala na mahirap lang makapasok sa UP – in fact, napadali nga e. Ang mahirap ay makalabas na may degree!

No salir, por favor. Gozamos de tus opiniones (sin importar cómo es torcido son) y nos haces risa. Du bist das Leben der Partei und ich bin sicher, daß Macoy sich nicht kümmert.

ozzie: “Since i’m bored anyway, might as well trace it, now if it traces back to the US, well, wala lang.”

@ozzie: bakit ka bored aber? You have no right to be bored! Hehehe… pero stay ka lang dito, masaya dito! I better get the RSS feed of the comments section. 🙂

  47. ang saya saya ko talaga pag nagbabasa ng blog na eto!

    @sir roms
    may spanish, may german pa!
    the best!

    @gigil
inaaway ka nila oh…wala ka man lang bang sasabihin?

  48. royalflare,

di pwedeng masaya pag nagbabasa sa blog ko. magagalit si gigil sayo. pathetic nga sabi ang blog ko eh! 😉

    gigil,

if you think my blog is pathetic, think again. but i owe it to you though, you’ve made it more interesting. salamat! 😛

  49. I agree with abbi, a 15 year-old (or even someone younger) can make it into college indeed. In fact, my husband was 15 too when he entered UP 🙂

But make no mistake. Special si gigil — she is only 15 and she has already gone to UP and (yup, AND ;-)) other “pipitsuging” places like KSU and Barton Community College. O diba? 😉

Anyway, who would’ve thought a comment that goes something like “this blog is so pathetic” can make this blog extra fun, nakaka-aliw at nakaka-gigil! 😀

  50. ey guys…i’ve been silent for a while…..’been busy with stuffs…finals, term papers (making sure my English is not constipated), part-time job and everything…..anyway just want to point out the friendster profile was not really mine…….the owner es my friend who resides in the US of A…..hunt for my profile in my friend’s friends list if you were really that goofy to know me ok…..anyway just want to point out that I did enter UPDil at 15 making it to my 1st choice of major which is BA LInguistics…not a waitlisted or anything….and wud you believe that i only hailed from a public science high in the “probinsya”…gosh the quality of educ in our sci high is at par with your high skuls…gosh i don’t care wether you guys are from Phi Sci High kasi naman it’s easy to be admitted there…less competition coz fews elem skuls receive the application forms at the applicants were predominantly from NCR…..see the inequality there…if you don’t believe my fucking claims then ‘whatever’……to that lame ass wannabe who theorized that my “brain couldn’t cope to the UP system” well don’t overgeneralize coz you never know the whole truth…..whatevah the reasons behind my quitting will be revealed later,…coz it’s a long story…..anyway i really have to go….I have more to say…….MORE to come bitches

  51. PS….one reason that i have to why you guys are arguing whether or not I was 15 when I entered UPDils is that you couldn’t accept the fact that it was my case..and it never happened to to your lives…gosh what an achievement debah making it to UP at 15!….sayang it wud never happen to you guys…and anyway I just noticed that most of you guys are way older than me, your postings suggest so……gosh kaya naman pala you were vehemently contradicting my ideas coz once again you couldn’t accept that a 15 year s old like me can gave sound arguments..debah, guys how are you doin’ when you’re 15……I don’t wanna sound like I’m just showing off my abilties but I have know choice but to drive the running of my ideas to this way…….If you can’t tame wild bears, go ahead and pit a mighty anaconda against them….make sense debah….i don’t care how shallow you may think this self-produced adage maybe but it still make sense whatevah debah…..anyway it’s just so tempting na mag-comment to your provocative arguments…….i do have to go……

  52. uchu…like what, a lot of us also hailed from provincial high schools no! even macoy! linguistics ka pala? hmmm… baka di nila matanggap yung grammar mo hehehe..

what abilities are you not trying to show? hehehe..yeah you’re currently preoccupied with term papers (kawawa na man ang prof. na mag chcheck ng papers mo)…and you got the time to write 2 response posts? ayus ka rin hehe 😀

you are self contradictory..you are a very controversial creature.. 😀 keep on replying though 🙂

  53. Get this okay? Hindi kami nagtataka na 15 ka and nakapasok ka ng UP. That’s not what people meant (see #63 & #71 for instance). Please read the comments more carefully before lashing out at people with your confounding statements.

And news flash — Walang naiinggit sa iyo na nakapasok ka ng UP at 15yo because that’s not really a big feat. Believe you me, it’s not. So even though it would never happen to (some of) us, who cares? Big deal. Like sir rom said, madali makapasok mas mahirap lumabas ng may degree.

    ——————————————-

quoting gigil “one reason that i have to why you guys are arguing whether or not I was 15 when I entered UPDils is that you couldn’t accept the fact that it was my case”

Wrong. THAT is not what we cannot accept. THIS is what we cannot accept — your statements that are always at odds with each other. Bottom line is, no one believes a thing that you’re saying because YOU KEEP CONTRADICTING YOURSELF.

  54. “one reason that i have to why you guys are arguing whether or not I was 15 when I entered UPDils is that you couldn’t accept the fact that it was my case..and it never happened to to your lives…gosh what an achievement debah making it to UP at 15!”

hey, kiddo, hindi big deal yan. That’s not someting to throw a party over. I know a student here na 16 years old lang and she’s graduating na. BS Applied Physics and graduating with honors. She she was *eleven* when she entered UP.

“to that lame ass wannabe who theorized that my “brain couldn’t cope to the UP system” well don’t overgeneralize coz you never know the whole truth”

Sir rom, oh, inaaway ka. hehehe. Overgeneralize? baka naman you meant “jumping to conclusions”? UP education never taught me that. Kelangan parating may basis. Else, it’s a fallacy.

“gosh kaya naman pala you were vehemently contradicting my ideas coz once again you couldn’t accept that a 15 year s old like me can gave sound arguments..debah, guys how are you doin’ when you’re 15”

Sorry to burst your bubbles, gigil, but when I was 15 I got myself into 2 schools. One ranked 10th in the World and one ranked 47th in Asia. But I had enough sense to know that that is not something to throw a party over because it *is* easy to get into a University of your choice but, just like what sir rom said, it’s not easy to get out with a degree.

“anyway just want to point out that I did enter UPDil at 15 making it to my 1st choice of major which is BA LInguistics…not a waitlisted or anything….”

I’m glad that the linguistics department does not require its applicants to take the TOEFL else baka hindi nakapasa si gigil sa first choice nya, KUNG nakapasa nga sya. Gigil, hindi mo pa sinasagot yung isang question. Ulitin ko ha, “Anong UP student number mo?”

“and wud you believe that i only hailed from a public science high in the “probinsya”…gosh the quality of educ in our sci high is at par with your high skuls…gosh i don’t care wether you guys are from Phi Sci High kasi naman it’s easy to be admitted there…less competition coz fews elem skuls receive the application forms at the applicants were predominantly from NCR”

Uh oh, Pisay naman ang inaaway nya. hehehe. Gigil, in case you haven’t heard, may campuses ang Pisay all over the country. And for tthe record, I was from a provincial public national high school.

  55. yep, entering UP at 15 yo is not a big deal.

I was 15 when I entered UP, was I proud of it? not really, since a majority of my batchmates were 15. I’m also from a provincial highschool, If you say that your highschool is at par with our highscool I would give you that. Heck, you can also say that your highschool was better than my highschool, and I would gladly agree with you. The challenge for me was to try and catch up with classmates that were from Manila schools, those that took up higher algebra and calculus when they were still in highschool. At the end of the day, it’s up to the person to motivate himself to finish what he started. Not leave after a month of realities.

“anyway just want to point out that I did enter UPDil at 15 making it to my 1st choice of major which is BA LInguistics”

again, it doesn’t matter. AFAIK Linguistics isn’t a quota course here in UP, meaning as long as your UPG from your upcat got you into Diliman, you’re a shoo-in for that course. Now if you tell me that you got into your 1st choice (linguistics in your case) and is an Oblation Scholar, then hats off to you.

“gosh kaya naman pala you were vehemently contradicting my ideas coz once again you couldn’t accept that a 15 year s old like me can gave sound arguments..debah, guys how are you doin’ when you’re 15”

No, were are not contradicting your ideas because we couldn’t accept a 15 year old like you is giving them. Why we are contradicting with you is that you might have your facts wrong( or some of us might just be extremely bored and wants to argue with a troll). We’re all from UP, we’ve had a first hand encounter with what it is to go there. Additionally, most of us has experiences working for the industry, I myself have already conducted countless interviews for people from a lot of different schools. I do have an idea on how UP graduates compare with them.

Your arguments aren’t sound, you still fail to provide objective proof to some of your statements. It also shows clear bias to an idea already formed in your head. While it’s good to have an idea, one should still be open to what other people have to say. If you read all of your comments again, the central idea of everything you’ve said so far is:
    1. This blog is pathetic
    2. UP is the same as any other school, and student’s from UP shouldn’t really be proud that they’re from UP.
    3. Your highschool is at par with PISAY
    4. Your 15 and you got into UP at that age, Now you think that you’re smarter and more mature than the rest of us.
(and no, it’s not easy to get into PISAY)

For 1.) then don’t read the blog, Some of us are actually interested with the content of this blog. No matter what the style of writing Macoy has.

    2. Sige, I’ll give you that, not because I agree with you. But because this has been argued for the longest time already. But you can’t fault us for defending UP, call it alma mater pride or anything, for us we appreciate what UP has done for us and anyone from UP would defend the university.

    3. i’m not from PISAY so I wouldn’t want to argue with you.

    4. See my comment above. But just to add to it, We are not arguing with you because we can’t acecpt the fact that a 15 yo could have sound arguments. We are arguing with you because we find your statements immature and without basis.

  56. I had the hunch that you had to do some “research and development” before you even try to post something here again.

“and wud you believe that i only hailed from a public science high in the “probinsya”…gosh the quality of educ in our sci high is at par with your high skuls…gosh i don’t care wether you guys are from Phi Sci High kasi naman it’s easy to be admitted there…less competition coz fews elem skuls receive the application forms at the applicants were predominantly from NCR”

well… I still don’t believe it.. actually… but ok.. i give you the benefit of the doubt.

“if you don’t believe my fucking claims then ‘whatever’”

ganun nalang ba yun? you have to prove yourself, you know.. you talk like a dumb blonde in a teen movie.

“hunt for my profile in my friend’s friends list if you were really that goofy to know me ok…”

first, you introduce yourself to the blog owner, then.. when we got you pitted against a corner, you want us to hunt? ano ka? hayop?

“well don’t overgeneralize coz you never know the whole truth…”

suffice to say that you’re the one doing that to the UP graduates..

“one reason that i have to why you guys are arguing whether or not I was 15 when I entered UPDils is that you couldn’t accept the fact that it was my case..”

and that is why we want you to prove to us that you did. can’t you see why someone wants to ask for your student number?

“gosh kaya naman pala you were vehemently contradicting my ideas coz once again you couldn’t accept that a 15 year s old like me can gave sound arguments..”

well I’m not so sure about that, your arguments have many loose ends. and that’s why we contradict what you say. if you were 15 and you really gave sound arguments, this thread wouldn’t have to be this long in the first place..

“whatevah the reasons behind my quitting will be revealed later,…coz it’s a long story…..anyway i really have to go….I have more to say…….MORE to come bitches”

    ahh.. more… very well then.

“gosh what an achievement debah making it to UP at 15!”

well… okay.. “whatevah” you say.. I don’t hail from UP, and I never did plan going to UP, so I don’t care. I guess that’s just to boost your tiny Ego, huh?

“If you can’t tame wild bears, go ahead and pit a mighty anaconda against them….make sense debah…”

ooohhh man… what i would give to hear you explain this to us. don’t tell me you got this from some book of proverbs again.. just like them spanish words in your spanish textbook..

  57. hey gigil!

at 15, i was able to make coherent statements. at 15, i was able to communicate well with people who were way older than i was. at 15, i was able to win arguments with these very same people. not because they were idiots but because i knew how to prove the statements i make.

about your claims, i did not need much effort just to pass the UPCAT. in fact, i was lollygagging during exam day! you say you chose linguistics?! that isn’t even a quota course! my choice of campus were the two most difficult ones to get into, diliman and manila. all my course choices were quota courses (all bachelor of science) . i was qualified enough to go to med school but stuck with engineering. and i wasn’t even from a science highschool. how then does your experience entering UP compare?

but unlike you, i didn’t think those things mattered. what’s more meaningful to me is the type of person i want to be and i choose to be. such a young person you are yet such a waste!

one of the things i learned from UP is to think. and think logically. perhaps your reason for leaving has a lot to do with the way you presented your ideas on your comments. reading them just made my head hurt.

about your talk about your education? pffft. you’re schooled but not educated. and based on the language you use.. far from being cultured.

  58. gosh goofers……FYI, I chose Linguistics because of of passion to the the subject.not because its non quota……and i don’t know what my ranking in the UPCAT was but I have a hunch that I was on the top 2% of the passers…gosh quite an achievement for an average gal nung highschool(clarify nung high skul lang)…..coz i found the test like it was a piece of cake….to the asshole there who thought that the dept of Lainguistics shud have required me to take the TOEFL…what d hel are u talking about bitchie!…my native language was ENGLISH…didn’t you recall that i’ve grown up in australia for 5 years…i was actually born there…then we move here in the phil i couldn’t understand tagalog then…if I were the president of UP, I would require evrry applicant to take TOEFL coz most flip students are not really fluent in english debah…..say nyo mga dorks!!!….and the UPCAT they shud add an essay portion to the test…….gosh boti pa ang lasalle, teneo coz they have an essay section to their admission test..anyway, if you guys are undersestimating din naman my abilities…let me tell u this…in highschool actually i’d also applied to a university in the US which is UCLA, short for University of California in Los Angeles, for those who who don’t know…this college was ranked in top 10 best university in the world if i’m not mistaken…..i know there are several of pinoys in california but less pinoys were admitted as far as i know…..and FYI the admission was not only based on a 5-hr test and a “counterfeitable” HS trancript lang…I had to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), submit a personal essay, interview, be active in extra-curriculars and community service, advance placement tests, take advanced classes, gosh it was like a load of lot of shits….and I made it through, i was admitted and was offered a merit-based scholarship….i just turned it down coz they’d not shoulder all the costs….i almost got a perfect score on the SAT…i was not admitted because of affirmative action or anything mantakin mo…gosh UCLA is way bettah than our UP…grabeh I might pursue my undergraduate studies in abroad….and di hamak that the admission rate a UCLA was way lower than UP though…gosh if you don’t believe that being 15 when you enter UP was not a big deal then mga idiotas kayo…coz for me as an average gal in High sch it was a huge honor…and don sa isang freak dyan who claim that he knows someone who was at 16 was already graduating in college..i don’t care coz that guy is a freak……abnormal sya and how many in a 100,000 is like that….their cohort “almost” do not exist….those kind of species are eliminated in the competition of the normals like us debah……gosh what can those freaks do to eliminnate poverty debah?..
“you’re like a dumb blonde in a teen movie”
well about this superficial claim…..ever seen the movie legally blonde……gosh i liken myself to reese whiterspoon…..well for those who don’t know i’m somewhat a laidback gal in high schul….but during the graduation though i was not the vale or salut i still was the first person in my sci highchool and town perhaps to ever got a place in a national competition….i was the most awarded student though, being athlete and the editor-in-chief of our paper….
gosi i’ve a shit load of schoolwork to do….so gudbye for now……..
well next time to make my points more plauusible, i will incorporate research to my arguments a……
PS… i won’t tell what my student number is….i’m a totally private person…….and its a goofiness to do dat…dehins ba kau nag-eesip….Identity theft is on the rise….also one reason why I won’t use my own email…….one more thing ” i would never compromise my private infos for the benefit of rats”…..
PS2……..don sa isang tao dyan who claims that he was admitted to one of the top 10 best univs. in the world, well i was admitted to UCLA and they offered me a merit-based scholarship……..i shud have applied to harvard or UC Berkley since I’m sure that they’ll admit me anyway but i still opted to apply to UCLA coz if ever i decided to do so i’ll stay with my relatives who reside nearby UCLa

gosh its killing my time i have to go beootches

  59. PS3.one more thing bitches..if you are noticing that my posts are full of colloquialisms…just want you to know that i’m just using the Englishes that I am comfortable of using….anyway just want to point though, in an Amy Tan’s(a prominent Asian-American author baka kasi dehens tinuro ng lterature prof nyo or teachr nung highskul) essay “mother’s tongue”, the world Englishes was used and it was not even quoted…..and i’ve heard it a lot of times in my life..so who were you guys to question the “de facto”-ness of the words that i use…..
and also ou know i’m a little radical din..gosh its like a bout between radicals (ako lang yata) and conservatives like you….that that was like sunni vs shi’ites in the middle east…..
    Moreover i’m a fan of Black Music,,,………

saka mas ok na yung la salle and ateneo just because they require essays as part of your application? bakit pa? pampasipsip lang yung essay hehe 😀

  61. “PS… i won’t tell what my student number is….i’m a totally private person…….and its a goofiness to do dat…dehins ba kau nag-eesip….Identity theft is on the rise….also one reason why I won’t use my own email…….one more thing ” i would never compromise my private infos for the benefit of rats”…..”

    >>>>>>>>>>>> But you would compromise your “friend’s” privacy? Talk about rats. I wonder if you have any real friends at all. wait, on second thought, i don’t wonder. :p

“no girl…i’m not 12…i’m 15 but in college already!…so what?….anybody can say the b word debah….well you wish, but i’m not a bully….like i said before i’m just being myslelf…and this is just me…..i don’t know but i think you are too conservative coz you are avoiding saying the B word or any other colloquial terms, whatevah……..c’mon this a part of our life it ain’t a crime to say this.

    Comment by gigil | December 6, 2006 ”

    >>>>>>>>>> I thought you said you were 15 when you ENTERED UP? Girl/boy/bakla/tomboy, it’s inconsistencies such as these that help people tell whether one is really telling the truth. 😉 if you’re gonna make things up, you better be consistent! para di ka mabuking! tsk tsk.. anu ba talaga koya!

  62. gosh….aimee V*tch is such a dork, no offense but your last post is the proof,……….i’m still 15 right now……”wala akong sinabi na 16, 17 or whatevah na ako”…..”tinagalog ko na para madali nyong ma-grasp ang mga sinabi ko”………if you can’t believe me then yeah like I said you guys just couldn’t accept the fact that a 15 year old can make sound arguments that are way more convincing than what you guys are making.debah…and my Englishes were so impressive…i’m not making things up though,”lola” aimee……..
if you guys do not think my arguments are convincing then whatevah but if if history is a guide people in the past did not believe Nicholas Coppernicus when he theorized that the sun was actually the center of the solar system…….debah…

  63. so just to get things straight, you got into UP at only 15 (your age now) and transferred school after a month, so that means you were in UP lang last june to july, studying linguistics?

this means that anyone out there with access to the information can query this year’s list of upcat passers with linguistics as their first choice, and are no longer enrolled in UP. I wonder how many people dropped out of UP this sem, shouldn’t be too many. 🙂

  64. .. and still you found time to reply through all the hectic schedules that you have! I’m impressed.

“gosh if you don’t believe that being 15 when you enter UP was not a big deal then mga idiotas kayo…coz for me as an average gal in High sch it was a huge honor…”

that’s what I’m saying. it’s not for us. it’s only for YOU! it’s about you! coz FOR YOU.. it was a huge honor. no. but it ain’t for us.

I see your fondness in insulting aimee v. in your messages.. ooooh.. could it be that .. you’re… envious??? hmmm??..

“if you can’t believe me then yeah like I said you guys just couldn’t accept the fact that a 15 year old can make sound arguments that are way more convincing than what you guys are making.debah…”

why do you jump to conclusions? that’s not even why we couldn’t accept your facts. you’re slow… think again moron.

“Amy Tan’s(a prominent Asian-American author baka kasi dehens tinuro ng lterature prof nyo or teachr nung highskul) essay “mother’s tongue””

Might I correct you.. It’s “Mother Tongue,” not “Mother’s Tongue”.. ANO YAN?! DILA NG NANAY MO?! GIVE ME A BREAK MAN! WOMAN.. WHATEVER YOU ARE.. HAHAHAHAH!!! how can you tell us your English(es) is less constipated than ours? YOU COULD NOT EVEN USE PUNCTUATIONS CORRECTLY TO PRESERVE IT’S MEANING!.. man… you’re frustrating. And yes I’ve heard of Amy Tan. Maybe you haven’t heard of Jose Rizal’s(the Philippine National Hero, as Americans put it) novels “Noli Me Tangere” and “El Filibusterismo.”

“you’re like a dumb blonde in a teen movie”

no… I didn’t say you are like a dumb blonde. I said that You TALK like a dumb blonde. see? you didn’t even know the difference of which. kapal naman ng apog mo chong. tumigil ka sa mga ilusyon mo!

you said.. “well next time to make my points more plauusible, i will incorporate research to my arguments a……”

and then you said.. “if you guys do not think my arguments are convincing then whatevah but if history is a guide people in the past did not believe Nicholas Coppernicus when he theorized that the sun was actually the center of the solar system”

HAHAHAHAH!!!!! this isn’t even relevant with what you’re trying to say! you’re not even a scientist to begin with!.. what in blazes is this research for?! hahah! so funny.. drink more promil … maybe you’ll learn how to play violin in the process.

    “i’m a totally private person…….”

hahaha! and you invade other people’s privacy? hahaha! what does that make you? a pervert?! oh really… totally.. hahaha

you said..”I went to a pipitsuging college (in most perspectives), whenever I say that I went to this pipitsugin college they’ll say ‘oh dyan ka lang nag-aral’ ”

and then you said.. “don sa isang tao dyan who claims that he was admitted to one of the top 10 best univs. in the world, well i was admitted to UCLA and they offered me a merit-based scholarship……..”

so what does one conclude with that?

so i guess i should say.. “ahh…. sa UCLA ka lang pala nag aral e..”

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

are male or female or shemale?

    get your facts straight.

  65. a fan of black music, eh?

with the kind of person you are, do you think your god can save you?

newflash: i killed your god molech!

i don’t see how you pass your arguments to be sound. inconsistencies and all. you use amy tan and history as references yet miss the entire point of this discussion. i say, no logic! i am quite sure amy tan’s and copernicus’ vision was to make this a better world with the things they did. you, however, i don’t know. i don’t need to know. all you ever seem to want to do is bring people down. your “education” has not taken you far. not even far enough to walk straight.

if you got nothing good to do in this world, get a life!

your other gods days are numbered!!

  66. boy bastos:”I see your fondness in insulting aimee v. in your messages.. ooooh.. could it be that .. you’re… envious??? hmmm??..”

    >>maybe coz aimee’s a real girl haha(unlike bacleta which could be gigil or her ka-confederasyon) ..and aimee got out of UP with a degree hehe..

boy bastos:”.. drink more promil … maybe you’ll learn how to play violin in the process.”

    >>ayaw nya nun..di bagay sa black music. haha 😀

grabe busy daw pero bilis response sa blog. hehe 🙂 grabe na to! pati si amy tan saka si copernicus mahihilo sa logic mo!

  67. “to the asshole there who thought that the dept of Lainguistics shud have required me to take the TOEFL…what d hel are u talking about bitchie!…my native language was ENGLISH…didn’t you recall that i’ve grown up in australia for 5 years…i was actually born there…then we move here in the phil i couldn’t understand tagalog then…if I were the president of UP, I would require evrry applicant to take TOEFL coz most flip students are not really fluent in english debah…..say nyo mga dorks!!!”

I wasn’t required to take the TOEFL and I didn’t. Shame, no? Considering that my English is “constipated”, too. Hahaha. Shame, English is your first language but you’re still not fluent with it. Wow, your English teacher must have been very proud of you! (you do know the meaning of sarcasm, right?) And for the record, I’m not an a******. (Sorry, using those kinds of words are beyond me.) I’m trying to be polite here, you know.

“actually i’d also applied to a university in the US which is UCLA, short for University of California in Los Angeles, for those who who don’t know…this college was ranked in top 10 best university in the world if i’m not mistaken”

I’m afraid you are, yet again, mistaken. Princeton ranked 10th in the world. UC Berkeley ranked eight but UCLA is not on the first 10. Please check your facts. Sorry to burst your bubble. And again, what is your student number? I have mine (both for UP and Princeton). 😀 Just say the word and I’ll post it. Gigil, what is there to hide? You’re not studying here, anyway. So, it doesn’t matter whether or not you post it online.

Again, getting into a University of your choice is not something to brag about. It’s getting out with a degree that matters.

“and don sa isang freak dyan who claim that he knows someone who was at 16 was already graduating in college..i don’t care coz that guy is a freak……abnormal sya and how many in a 100,000 is like that….their cohort “almost” do not exist….those kind of species are eliminated in the competition of the normals like us debah……gosh what can those freaks do to eliminnate poverty debah?..”

Correction “she”. I’m a girl. And the aforementioned person is a girl, too. Just for the record. 😀 Gosh, look who’s jumping into conclusions now. She’s perfectly normal. Gifted but normal. I’m seeing a trend here. She can’t tolerate people better than her. (aimee v., she’s just jealous. Hahaha) 😀

“don sa isang tao dyan who claims that he was admitted to one of the top 10 best univs. in the world, well i was admitted to UCLA and they offered me a merit-based scholarship”

again, “she”. I was under financial aid. Hehe. 😛

Way to go kax! Very well said!

“if you can’t believe me then yeah like I said you guys just couldn’t accept the fact that a 15 year old can make sound arguments that are way more convincing than what you guys are making.debah…and my Englishes were so impressive…i’m not making things up though,”lola” aimee……..”

Wow, I’m IMPRESSED so with your ENGLISHES!(Sarcasm)
Someone, PLEASE, get me busy! 😛

  68. Wow! you feel that you’re among the top 2% sa mga pumasa sa UP you must be really smart! AMAZING… (*snicker)

I believe macoy has a record of UPCAT passers for this year, I wonder how many of the, let’s give it a bigger range, top 200 people that went to UP went to linugistics.

You say that you got into UCLA, with an almost perfect score on your SAT’s then why not go to some other university in the US, a lot of them would be more than happy to shoulder the costs of your education, why decide to go to a university here, where according to you, none of which belongs to the top 100 in asia.

Again, getting into UP at 15 is not a big deal. I didn’t graduate highschoool with honors, infact, I was lousy student. I watched TV before an exam instead of actually studying for the exam. Was I proud to get into UP, of course I am. But is it really something that people admire? not really because it’s pretty common.

Your english sucks (not just because of your use of the term englishes). Plain and simple. It lacks structure and your grammar needs a lot of work. I can’t believe that you have the nerve to call it your first language.

  69. Just to add, you got into UCLA? what program?

Again, this is another one of your statements that is “believable” but only if you provide proof.

In fact, I got into harvard when I was 14, got a perfect score on my SAT, and got offered a full scholarship. I decided to study here because my family lives here.

yes, it’s not true. But the point I’m making is that anyone can claim anything here. When defending your arguments you have to present PROOF for anything you say. We can’t and shouldn’t just take your word for it. We don’t know you, and we don’t trust you. For us to accept and believe any of your statements, you’d have to present proof.

  70. Sino ba nagsabi na walang word na Englishes? Kaya ka binabara ng mga tao kasi mali ang pag-gamit mo nung word. Englishes is not synonymous to the word English. It’s use can be as 1) a transitive verb or 2) a noun pertaining to standardisations and emerging kinds and varities of the the English language. Amy Tan used the word Englishes in the latter context.

    tr.v. Eng·lished, Eng·lish·ing, Eng·lish·es
    1. To translate into English.
    2. To adapt into English; Anglicize.

    noun. Eng·lish·es
Pertains to the different kinds or standardisations of English, for example, American English (more colloquial) and British English (more formal). Then there are the New Englishes which pertain to autonomous, non-western varieties like Taglish, Singlish etc.

So now we go to Amy Tan and her essay “Mother Tongue”. On a sidenote, it’s Mother not Mother’s okay. And don’t give us that typo BS (that’s short for bullshit BTW) because you know very well that that is not the case. I won’t post the whole thing kasi nabasa mo na naman diba? Ang tanong, did you even understand what the essay meant? She didn’t use Englishes in her essay to mean Englishes as in different English words. She used it to refer to the different KINDS of English that she was using i.e. when speaking to a crowd, when speaking with her mom etc.

She used the word Englishes several times in her essay but I will quote the part that best proves my point:
“Recently, I was made keenly aware of the different Englishes I do use. I was giving a talk to a large group of people, the same talk I had already given to half a dozen other groups. The nature of the talk was about my writing, my life, and my book, The Joy Luck Club. The talk was going along well enough, until I remembered one major difference that made the whole talk sound wrong. My mother was in the room. And it was perhaps the first time she had heard me give a lengthy speech, using the kind of English I have never used with her.”

So next time, do your research more extensively and read your sources more carefully before you blast out more fallacies. The problem with you is you use misconstrued information to try to substantiate your arguments.

  71. ayayay! mahilig daw siya sa black music. Bakit mo siningit yun? Parang wala sa align diba?

“bgyan kitang number ng salbakuta..maging friendsters kayo”
“.. drink more promil … maybe you’ll learn how to play violin in the process.”
“ayaw nya nun..di bagay sa black music. haha ”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!:D Couldn’t stop laughing when I read these comments.

    –carla–

  72. Eto PS3 ko:

Private person ka pala eh. How nasty of you to compromise your friend’s privacy and identity by posting her bacleta_123@yahoo.com email address kung saan saan. Eh yun ay KUNG totoo nga na hindi talaga ikaw si bacleta_123. Lies, lies and more lies.

    -carla-

  73. Okay, nahahawa na ako sa mali mali mong Englishes. Let me correct myself bago ako mabara 😛 “It’s use can be as” should have been “Its uses are as”.

    -carla-

  74. And the saga continues…

Top 2% – so Oblation Scholar ka ng UP? Tama ba Macoy? Di ba eto yung mga binibigyan ng Oblation scholarship? Hmmm…

Linguistics – para maging cunning linguist? 😛

  75. @ozzie: Sa US kasi, after pa ng second year ka mag-dedeclare ng degree program na papasukan mo. So, parang general education lang during your first 2 years. Kaya mag-e-express ka lang muna ng interest sa application but you won’t apply pa agad sa specific degree program. Ewan ko lang din sa UCLA. But sure ako na that’s how it works sa mga Ivy League schools.

@nightfox: ako rin. My God, first time akong natawag na b****** at a****** sa buong buhay ko. Ni hindi nga ako gumagamit ng ganong words eh. Hehe.

    @carla: way to go, girl!

@rom: walang pong BA sa mga Oblation Scholars ngayong year. Hehe. http://upcat.up.edu.ph/cgi-bin/upcat/results.cgi?b=1
    Puro BS silang lahat.

And about her almost getting a perfect score sa SAT, I wonder kung ilang beses nyang na-take yun since pwede namang pa-ulit-ulit i-take yung SAT. 😛

Just wanna say pala na nasaakin na ang IP address ni gigil.

  76. @abbi.. oh yeah i keep forgetting. thanks for correcting 🙂

@friendster yeah I saw that too when I was hunting around. kaso didn’t think it was her LOL. Not what I imagined, the other profile looks more appropriate. But if it’s really her, her nickname does make sense right? gigll> girlie giltano. but of course, she’s going to say that that’s not her.

  77. Sir/Lady/Whatever Gigil,

Thine logic be flawed. Off with thine head!*

Thine heart be not at ease,
    Queen of Logic

    P.S.1
Wait…can Middle English be constipated, too?

    P.S.2
    LOL

    P.S.3
Hindi ba copyright infringement na to? …. *grin* hehe…pagbigyan mo na ako Sony (c).

*++(side-effects of having to play BOF4 for one month…….* wide grin*)++

  78. Pardon, mayest it be known that mine loose choice in grammar made me more constipated than mine associates… or whatnot.

‘Tis supposed to be “Thy logic…” not “Thine…”

    Forgive mine default…

Thine heart be not at ease,
    Queen of Logic

  79. hehehe.. oo nga eh.. ang bilis!

Not that i’m saying that it’s her. pero walang nakapasok sa UP with that last name ng 2006.

  80. @ozzie: Cool. You bothered to look her up. Hehe. Sana nga pwede ring i-check sa UCLA.

Haay, mag-reply pa kaya si Ms. Gigil?

    Happy Christmas, everyone! 😀

  81. I’m ALMOST sad to say this pero mukhang hindi na! 😀
Kasi abbi you found the most effective blog-trollicide — tell them you know their IP address and post their friendster account LOL 😀

  82. uy nightfox, i just realized. di ko pa pala ako nag-react sa first comment mo. gin-oogle ko pa nga yung stfap kasi wala akong nakitang UP site na ganun. puro processing lang kasi. sa UP Manila pa yun ha. don’t worry though, magkakaroon na rin yan. *wink wink*

honga, gigil is back! pero wala na, naputukan na ata ang kamay at maigsi na lang ang response nya. :O

sorry abbi ha di na ako nakapag-contribute sa security predictions mo. too late na to make a prediction kasi 2007, matatapos na ang january. hehe…

i didn’t connect to the net the whole christmas break (bagal kasi ng dialup sa iligan eh, tsaka nakakatamad pumunta sa internet cafe) and i’ve been busy as soon as i got back kaya no new blog entries in a while.

  83. nakakatakot si gigil. sobrang wrong grammar.

“ok..no final words from me…..what i meant with constipated English is the English of someone who was trying hard to carry out perfect English…and the result was he feel uncomfortable using that English…..so the outcome was a constipated English……”

just like this one. hahaha. my dearest “gigil”, don’t try too hard. if you can’t speak the language, then don’t. we’d understand.

“my advice guys….just be your self ok……be casual you know what i’m saying….use the Englishes that you are comfortable of using…….”

I’m sending back that advice to you. =)

“anyway, i want to point out na I did pass the UPCAT and I attended UP for a month. I’d rather study in Batanes than in UP>………”

And your Spanish is very very basic, can’t fool me. We study Spanish in UP too, by the way. So I suggest you shut your mouth and stop bad-mouthing the school just because you’re angsty and couldn’t survive life in UP. (either that or you really didn’t pass the UPCAT and you’re just saying this to prove your point. My dear, you surely couldn’t have passed the UPCAT with that grammar! And with that haughty attitude!

Ay, baka gusto mong tagalugin ko? O espanyol? O baka gusto mo french pa. Bisaya? Batanggenyo?

*A big laugh aimed directly at you*

Go wallow in self-pity. Don’t worry, we’re just here laughing. =) You’re trying too hard! Nakakatawa tuloy. Wag mong ipapakita ever yung mukha mo ha, nakakahiya! 😉

  84. omg. this site rocks. ahaha \m/ too bad ngaun ko lang to nakita.

i dont know about this ‘gigil’ but i pity the person.

he/she has to use several languages just to “justify”, if i may use the word, his/her arguments(if you can call that arguments.. ahaha).

btw, napansin nio ba kung gaano nia kadalas gamitin ang salitang ‘gosh’? la lang. nakakabother kasi pag binabasa ko mga reply nia tas napupuno ng words na ito.

    gosh naman di ba?

    >:)

  85. I have to laugh at what she knows about the blogosphere… especially, her comment about “personal” blogging.

Sheeesh… personal blogging is blogging or publishing written articles about your personal life… just like a personal article in a newspaper.

    tsk…

  86. It’s in fact very complex in this full of activity life
to listen news on Television, thus I just use web for that purpose, and take
    the hottest information.
